Seasonal POSITIONS & Internships
Academic Support Program Intern
(FalL 2025-Spring 2026)
As the Academic Support Program Intern, you’ll oversee the operations of BTSV’s academic support center, where we provide both scheduled and drop-in tutoring to 7th-12th grade students every Monday through Thursday after school. Here’s what a day on the job may look like: You might start by pairing students with tutors based on schedules and subject matter, then make sure the academic support center classroom is prepped. You will collaborate frequently with the BTSV program staff to check in on student engagement and progress, and you’ll enter student grades and attendance data into Salesforce. You’ll be the main point of contact for both students and volunteers, ensuring they’re informed of the tutoring schedule and objectives each day.
Admissions Program Intern
(Fall 2025-Spring 2026)
The Admissions Program Intern is a part of BTSV’s admissions team. In the fall, you’ll work with the team to support the launch of BTSV’s middle school admissions application. Most importantly, you’ll be the primary contact for prospective families and teachers, answering their questions and providing technical support as they’re submitting application materials. You’ll also support in developing presentations and marketing materials, including social media, and you’ll provide logistical support, such as partnering with school liaisons to schedule presentations for students and families both virtually and in person.
Marketing and Communication Intern
(Fall 2025)
You’ll learn the ins and outs of nonprofit fundraising, get design and social media experience, and develop event planning and project management skills. Each day will look different: You’ll assist with the planning and execution of multiple volunteer and donor events, including BTSV’s signature Are You Smarter Than a Breakthrough Student fundraiser; execute mailings, including appeals and acknowledgment letters; research prospective donors; and make sure our Salesforce data is up-to-date. You’ll also support BTSV’s communications and marketing, including posting on social media, making updates to BTSV’s website, and taking photos and videos.
Middle School Program Intern
(Fall 2025)
The Middle School Program Intern will tackle a variety of tasks including: collecting student grades and enter data into Salesforce, design a flyer in Canva to invite families to an upcoming BTSV event, support logistics planning and execution for a workshop or field trip to a local college, or ensure that BTSV’s Chromebook inventory is ready to use at our after-school program.
