Lizbeth Huerta
College access and success manager
Lizbeth was born and raised in the Central Valley, she is a proud 1st generation Mexican daughter of immigrant farm workers. She relocated to the Bay Area for graduate school at Cal State East Bay where she received her Masters in Public Policy. Before that, she received her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Cal Poly Humboldt.
As a former foster youth who struggled to navigate through higher education, she is passionate about advocating for students and empowering them to be successful in college and beyond. Lizbeth is joining Breakthrough after years of working in higher education. She hopes to expand the current support available for Breakthrough Alumni now in college and strengthen partnerships with universities and community resources.
In her free time, you can find her at a Sharks or Earthquakes game.
